Communication was great. I was picked up from the hotel, transfered to the hospital, and accompanied by Adam (translator) through the journey. He knew exactly the intake process and what they would want. He was well organized and very friendly. The consultant spoke English and was very calm, and professional. I had femto iLasik which was without complication. Pre-op my prescription was -7. Day 0 post op, I could still see but with blurry vision. Day 1 post op, my vision is now 20/20. But eyes feel gritty but hopefully will ease in a few days. I am very impressed with the quality and standard of the whole process. I would highly recommend Turkey for medical tourism. It's affordable and a beautiful clean city to visit as well. Stupendous experience.

The thing I liked the most about the clinic is that there is no compulsion for surgery in the clinic (compared to other places). The main problem with your eyes, that is, whether there is a disease or not, is important to them. If there is a disease, the most appropriate solution will be found. A big thank you to Opr.Dr.Sezer.Haciağaoğlu, who examined my eyes and did the laser. Wherever I have been to an eye hospital in my life, I have never met such a polite and experienced doctor. I particularly appreciated 1- the day-to-day follow-up from the first contact 2- the responsiveness in preparing and organising the trip 3- the logistical arrangements for my travel - punctuality and regularity 4- the coach's availability, his empathy and his humanism 5. Efficiency and speed of medical treatment 6- the high standard of the technical facilities 7- the doctor's ability to listen 8- Post-operation follow-up 9- Availability and openness of staff I would also like to point out that a personalised medical file is not provided for information purposes and for better remote monitoring.

Overall, the experience was very much worth. It’s so world changing to be able to see clearly again! The cost was so much better than in the US, and I was also able to get the lens I wanted that is not available in the US yet. Other than a false assumption about where my hotel was located, and the drivers having difficulty finding me, the only perimeter went pretty smoothly. I’m happy with the outcome. I would only suggest that there be at least one nurse or medical staff besides the doctor who speaks English. Many more paranoid, or less traveled Americans would have a hard time going through that honestly. I feel the service is very worth iit overall, those are just some recommendations to make the service excellent and a no-brainer for Americans who need medical procedures.

My husband and I traveled from New Zealand to both get eye lens replacement surgery. From the start we have had print and effient communication. With every question answered. We were picked up from the airport, taken to hotel, then the same day at our request taken to the hospital for our appointment. The staff at Bookimed from the initial off-set answered all my questions, queries promptly. I was nervous with feelings swaying about my treatment. Upon arrival in Turkey from the airport transfer onwards, I have got to say all doubts were a contrast as to what I witnessed and to the treatment I received. On the first day the hotel staff were welcoming by the way I stayed local to VMH University Hospital Istanbul Besyol, at a budget I chose the World Point Hotel 700 meters away (Ramada Hotel was even closer.) I'm not arguing with what I paid, hygiene, cleanliness, manners, availability of staff, room, I got and witnessed. The transfer to the Hospital l walked with my translator, who put all my nerves and questions I had to bed, I must say I felt alot better. On arrival I was astounded, the smell of freshness, clean, I had to ask the translator how many floors 9 was the reply, Big, busy different ethnicities different cultures, vast array of people from all parts of the world, I felt comfortable. The level of equipment, the Doctors, staff members would not go amiss in any Country. The treatment I received the interaction which you have with the Doctor was of great effect to me as the knowledge about my treatment gained was instrumental in what was to happen.
